      • Want bags that don't take up much room? Try thin synthetic shopping bags. They are easy to stash anywhere.
      • Want bags that are more structured and heavy duty? Try cotton canvas shopping bags.
      • Want bags that keep cold things cold? Try insulated zippered shopping bags.
      • Want looking at your bags to make you and others smile? There are tons of reusable bags with fun images printed on them. You can even have your own designs and images printed on reusable bags.
      • Just want cheap bags? Most grocery stores sell them by the checkout counters.
      • Too many bags? Shove your bags inside other bags to contain them.
    • Want to remember to bring your reusable bags into the store?
      • Keep a bunch of reusable bags in your car, bicycle bag, backpack, and purse.
      • Write the reminder "Bring Bags" at the top of every shopping list.
      • Before you leave home in your car to shop, put your bags on the front seat where you'll be reminded of them.
      • Have kids? Put them in charge of holding the bags in the car.
    • Reusable bags can be used for more than groceries. Bring your own bags wherever you shop. 
    • Sometimes you don't need any bag! Just carry your items in your purse or backpack or even in your hands.
    • If plastic disposable bags are unavoidable, bring them back to the store and reuse them next time you shop.
    • Plastic bags in the produce section of grocery stores can be used and then reused for produce next time you shop. Just bring them back to the store inside your larger reusable bags.
    • If you still end up with plastic disposable bags from your shopping, try reusing them in your small garbage cans in place of purchased plastic disposable bags but watch out for holes in them. Some people even cut them into strips and knit with them.
    • Think disposable plastic bags given away by stores are free? They aren't free, the cost to stores is included like all their other costs when they price their products.
    • Wondering about asking for paper bags instead of plastic ones? This is a long standing debate. If forced to choose, I'd have to go with paper.  
    • Extremely concerned about any kind of bag? Though it takes resources to make anything, you can offset the resources used to make reusable bags by using them over and over. 
    • The point of using reusable bags is to be part of the solution. They don't solve every problem, but reusable bags save wildlife from dying a very unnecessary and horrible death. 
    • According to the Center For Biodiversity, plastic bags kill over 100,000 marine animals each year (2020).
    • Share the love by giving reusable bags as gifts. The thin synthetic ones make great stocking stuffers.
